SUMMARY:Register now for the Women’s Energy Network Luncheon: Trade and Tariffs: A Closer Look at Chemical Markets Sept 18, 2025 – Houston
DESCRIPTION:\nU.S. chemical markets are evolving once again with tariffs and trade policy at the center of this change. Add in a hurricane season that is predicted to be active, and the risk to chemical supply chains builds. These forces are creating new challenges and opportunities for the U.S.’ position in the global ethylene and propylene markets. Navigating these factors in the short term will define the competitiveness of the U.S. for years to come.\nBy registering for this event, you agree to the Women’s Energy Network Terms and Conditions. If you’re having issues with registration, please email the event name and date to info@womensenergynetwork.org for assistance.\nSpeakers\n\nAnna Matherne Maldonado\nAssociate Director of Chemicals at PetroChem Wire\nOriginally from Southeast Louisiana, Anna Matherne Maldonado moved to Houston 15 years ago and is now Associate Director of Chemicals at PetroChem Wire, where she has covered the aromatics and olefins markets since 2022. With nearly two decades of industry experience, she’s held roles in journalism, public relations, and marketing at companies including Dow Chemical, GAC Shipping & Logistics, and ICIS. Her career has centered on bringing clarity to complex chemical markets through sharp reporting and analysis.\n\n\nSupport Childhood Cancer Awareness Month with WENH!\nSeptember is Childhood Cancer Awareness Month.\nWomen’s Energy Network Houston is collecting new art supplies for the Texas Children’s Cancer and Hematology Center at our September 18 luncheon.\nSince quality, safety, and infection control are critical to their patients’ care, they require that all donations be new items. Coloring books, crayons, glue sticks, and seasonal craft kits are always excellent donations. Pre-packaged craft kits for use at the bedside are also appreciated; examples include activity booklets, door hangers, paper bag puppets, or seasonal crafts. Crayons must be non-toxic, and the Crayola brand is preferred.\nOur donations will support The Periwinkle Arts in Medicine Program, which provides fun and educational children’s art projects to encourage the development of coping skills in children with cancer and blood disorders.\nWEN encourages our members to get involved with and support the communities in which they live and work. Thank you for helping us make a difference!\n\n\n
