DESCRIPTION:The SPE Gulf Coast Section (GCS) Scholarship is now open for the 2026–2027 academic year. Applications will be accepted starting December 1, 2025, and the deadline to submit all materials is Sunday, February 15, 2026 (11:59 PM).\nThis scholarship supports students pursuing a career in the energy industry and provides renewable funding for up to four years: $2,000 per semester ($4,000 per academic year). To maintain eligibility in subsequent years, students must meet specific requirements related to GPA, full-time enrollment, and major. Detailed requirements will be provided upon request.\nApplication Overview\nThe online application consists of five sections, all of which must be completed for your submission to be considered:\n\nConfirm Eligibility & Basic Information\nBasic Information\nDetailed Questions\n\nAcademic Achievement\nExtracurricular & Leadership Activities\nInterest in the Energy Industry\n\n\nEssay\nLetters of Recommendation\n\nRequired Documents\nTo complete your application, you will need to submit the following through the Kaleidoscope portal. Maximum file size: 10 MB.\n\nLetters of Recommendation: Minimum 2, maximum 3, submitted directly via the portal.\nHigh School Transcript: Including fall semester of senior year.\nSAT or ACT Score Report\n\nEligibility Criteria\nApplicants must meet all of the following requirements:\n\nGraduating high school senior.\nPlanning to study science or engineering as a freshman in college.\nHave a permanent address in one of the 29 counties within the SPE Gulf Coast Section: Austin, Brazoria, Brazos, Burleson, Chambers, Colorado, Fayette, Fort Bend, Galveston, Grimes, Hardin, Harris, Jasper, Jefferson, Lee, Liberty, Madison, Matagorda, Montgomery, Newton, Orange, Polk, San Jacinto, Trinity, Tyler, Walker, Waller, Washington, Wharton.\nBe a U.S. citizen or permanent resident.\n\nApplicants who do not meet these criteria are not eligible for the SPE GCS scholarship, but may explore SPE International scholarships.
