Glenfarne Announces Major Phase One Alaska LNG Milestones, with Construction, Line Pipe Supply, and In-State Gas Agreements

Glenfarne Announces Major Advances for Alaska LNG Phase One

JUNEAU, Alaska (January 22, 2026) – Glenfarne Group, LLC subsidiary Glenfarne Alaska LNG, LLC (“Glenfarne”), majority owner and developer of the Alaska LNG Project, today announced a series of major advances that move Phase One of the Alaska LNG Project from development into early execution – focused on rapidly delivering reliable, affordable natural gas to Alaskans.

Glenfarne Chief Executive Officer and Founder Brendan Duval said:

“This is about progressing from planning to building. By aligning construction, pipe supply, gas supply, and in-state customers, we are advancing Alaska LNG in a concrete way that is practical, financeable, and focused on delivering real benefits to Alaskans.”

Alaska LNG is being developed through the entity 8 Star Alaska LLC, which is 75% owned by Glenfarne and 25% owned by the State of Alaska through the Alaska Gasline Development Corporation.

Project Phases

Glenfarne is developing Alaska LNG in two financially independent phases.

  • Phase One: 739-mile, 42-inch pipeline delivering gas from the North Slope to Alaskans. Target completion: 2028. First gas: 2029.
  • Phase Two: LNG liquefaction terminal exporting up to 20 MTPA.

EPCM Agreement

Glenfarne has provisionally named Worley Limited (ASX: WOR) to provide Engineering, Procurement, and Construction Management services for Phase One, subject to a definitive agreement.

Awards for Pipeline Construction

The following companies have received conditional awards:

  • MasTec / Precision Pipeline – precisionpipelinellc.com
  • Quanta / Price Gregory – pricegregory.com
  • Michels / ASRC Energy Services
  • Associated Pipe Line / Doyon / Cruz Construction
  • Barnard / SICIM
  • Spiecapag / U.S. Pipeline

Awards remain subject to definitive construction agreements.

Line Pipe Supply Agreements

Phase One requires approximately 725,000 metric tonnes of line pipe. Preliminary agreements include:

  • Corinth Pipeworks (Greece) – cpw.gr
  • Europipe GmbH – europipe.com
  • POSCO International

Gas Supply Agreements

Glenfarne has executed Gas Sales Precedent Agreements with:

  • ExxonMobil
  • Hilcorp Alaska
  • Pantheon Resources / Great Bear Pantheon

ConocoPhillips also reaffirmed its support for the project.

Alaska Gas Sales Agreements

Glenfarne has advanced agreements with in-state customers:

  • ENSTAR Natural Gas Company – 30-year non-binding supply agreement
  • Donlin Gold Mine – Up to 50 MMcfd and infrastructure cooperation

Recent Progress

Since becoming lead developer in March 2025, Glenfarne has secured commitments for 11 MTPA of LNG and partnerships with Baker Hughes, Danaos, and POSCO International.
