Allstream Insiders Summary

Japan Petroleum Exploration Co., Ltd., or JAPEX, has completed its acquisition of Fundare Resources Operating Company, LLC, Fundare Redtail, LLC, Rangeview Resources Operating Company, LLC and Rangeview Green River, LLC—collectively referred to as Fundare. JAPEX said the transaction closed on October 1, 2026, local time, through its U.S. subsidiary structure.

The acquired companies hold operated tight oil and gas assets in Colorado and Wyoming. JAPEX said the completed transaction has an enterprise value of approximately $278 million, including approximately $220 million of reserve-based lending and the balance funded with internal funds from Peoria, its overseas subsidiary.

The assets are located in Colorado’s Denver-Julesburg Basin and Wyoming’s Green River Basin. Fundare will continue operating the assets, according to JAPEX. The company previously reported that a major portion of the acquired leases are close to its Verdad assets, which Peoria acquired in February 2026.

What JAPEX acquired

The transaction transfers the entire interests in four Fundare operating entities that hold tight oil and gas assets in Colorado and Wyoming. JAPEX completed the acquisition through Peoria Resources Acquisition Company, LLC, which is managed by Peoria Resources, LLC, a JAPEX overseas subsidiary.

JAPEX said Fundare will continue operating the assets following closing. The completion notice does not disclose a change in field operator, individual well assignments, an updated development schedule or the specific leases transferred within each basin.

Enterprise value and reported funding

JAPEX reported an enterprise value of approximately $278 million for the Fundare interests at completion. It said approximately $220 million would be raised through reserve-based lending, with the balance covered by Peoria’s internal funds.

In its August 2026 acquisition announcement, JAPEX had described an acquisition price of approximately $320 million. The October completion announcement reports the $278 million enterprise value for the completed Fundare transaction. Neither announcement provides a detailed reconciliation between those figures, so the disclosures should be read as the company’s respective announced and completed-transaction values.

How the assets fit with JAPEX’s existing U.S. position

JAPEX said a major portion of the Fundare leases are close to its Verdad assets, which Peoria acquired in February 2026. The company has said it expects to pursue more efficient development and potential unit-cost reductions by leveraging that geographic proximity and a larger operating scale.

Those operational benefits are JAPEX’s stated expectations, not completed results. The completion announcement does not identify specific shared facilities, gathering systems, drilling locations, development budgets, capital projects or supplier and contractor awards connected to the combined asset position.

What has not been disclosed

The company’s completion notice does not provide an updated production forecast, reserve estimate, lease-by-lease asset map, drilling schedule, workover plan, gathering arrangement or capital budget for the acquired assets. It also does not announce an integration construction program or establish separate procurement opportunities.

Future operating updates from JAPEX, Peoria or Fundare would be needed to identify the asset-development sequence and any project-level work that may result from the combined position.

Allstream perspective: completed asset transfer, not a disclosed field-development program

JAPEX has completed an upstream asset acquisition that expands its operated presence across two U.S. tight oil and gas basins and adds acreage near its existing Verdad position. The reported enterprise value, funding structure and ongoing Fundare operations establish the transaction’s core terms.

However, the current disclosure does not set out an asset-development capital program or a schedule of new projects. Until JAPEX identifies specific drilling, facilities, gathering or infrastructure scopes, the acquisition should be read as a completed ownership transfer with stated operational objectives—not as evidence of awarded construction or supply-chain work.
