The acquisition closed on September 15, 2026, after the parties satisfied the customary closing conditions identified by BKV.
Acquisition Includes an Operating Carbon-Capture Project
The acquired package includes an operated carbon-capture and sequestration project connected to three compressors and a gas plant. BKV said the project captured more than 100,000 metric tons of carbon dioxide during the trailing 12 months through the first quarter of 2026.
The assets include an operated carbon-dioxide pipeline and injection well. This gives BKV control of the production, gathering, processing and carbon-management components identified in the announcement within one operating footprint.
How Does the Transaction Expand BKV’s Barnett Position?
The acquired acreage and infrastructure complement BKV’s existing Barnett Shale operations in the Fort Worth Basin. BKV said the added scale and shared infrastructure are expected to support operational and capital efficiencies while increasing the Barnett gas volumes available to serve demand centers in Dallas-Fort Worth and along the Gulf Coast.
Those expected benefits are company projections and will depend on BKV’s integration and operation of the acquired assets.
